Venezuelan artist Alejandra Sieder exhibits in Sydney

Venezuelan artist Alejandra Sieder will hold an exhibition “Tell me. I’m still here” at Gaffa Creative Precint, 281 Clarence St, from October 26 to November 6.

OPENING NIGHT: October 26th. From 6 to 8pm.

Alejandara says: “It's a pleasure to announce my first solo exhibition here in Sydney since I arrived from Norway.
My artwork is an exploration of consciousness and mental processes. Each work demonstrates a different operation of the mind. Some are darker, like the airless feeling of a panic attack, and some lighter, like the feeling of hope and fulfillment.

Since childhood, I have been focused on analysing human behaviour and I’ve come to realise that people often don’t have the help they need. I have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition. What starts out as vision soon becomes manipulated into a dialectic of distress, leaving only a sense of chaos and the likelihood of a new beginning. They might find themselves in a dark hole, but there is always light when one surrenders to this darkness. This action holds the possibility of transcendence.”
